Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fit the Bill I was actually shopping for a stadium seat for a football game but discovered they were "seasonal" and no longer in the store, (This was in October by the way so I don't know what season the bleacher seat was designed for???)At any rate the salesman came to the rescue and suggested the canoe seat might fit the bill -- and it did, perfectly!!! It is light weight with a carry strap, but sturdy when opened with a strap to attach it to the bleacher (or canoe as it were!), weather proofand comfy. Just what I wanted to save my husband's back during a college footballgame. Thank you GCI, and kudos to the salesman who cared about pleasing a customer and could think outside the box!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not right for my kayak I have an inflatable kayak and have never been a fan of the inflatable seat. I bought this because it looked like it would work....but didn't. There is not enough cushion/padding on the seat to sit on and keep the back supported. I had to use rope to configure holding the back in place so that I could use the seat for some support to paddle. That being said....I think the product is well made. It dried quick and I did get back support once I did my rope thing. The bottom cushion does have two large/wide very firm holding velcro straps. If you have a wood/composite canoe seat, I could see this strapping down well and working as desired.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Started off good, but... Purchased one in store and ordered the other.Used this for a multi-day canoe trip. I'm 6'3" 180 pounds, like back support from all that sitting. the first 5-10 minutes it's great, but the adjusting strap begins to stretch out and if you actually lean into the seat back, it slowly and surely keeps going further back until it's reclined itself flat. The adjusting strap is a single long strap running from the front of one side of the seat, up and around the back of the seat and down to the front of the other side. This makes for a very long strap of nylon and it just seems to stretch out and you will use up all of your adjustment with it still ultimately falling back flat. For short periods of time it's a nice passive back support system but I found myself frequently folding it down flat and sitting on top of it. The cushion that you sit on is decent and the overall feel of the product is good, but it would be better if they used two shorter straps on each side vs one long strap looped around, it just has too much play.Mounting to the canoe seat was easy and the buckles snap solid and retention there was pretty good, and it has a decent carry handle and not overly heavy. For the price I guess it's an okay purchase but I was really excited to be getting something solid and that didn't turn out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best thing I have bought for my kayak Before riding in my kayak for long periods of time my back would kill me now it's like I'm sitting at home in a recliner. Best thing I've bought for my kayak so far.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from questionable construction.. Bought two of these seats for a fishing canoe. Within one season parts started to fail. One of the plastic buckles used to strap the seat down broke, one of the adjustable back rest straps broke, the nylon strip that supports the backrest near the top of the frame broke, and the hinge joints between the seat and backrest started to rust. Also, the stitching in several places around the seats is starting to come un-done. For the price of the seat, I would say quality is questionable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great chair, but needs to be modified I bought 2 of these to use in my new Coleman Scanoe. I strapped them tightly on my front and rear seats for a 4 day canoe trip down the Peace River. They worked great as both my son and I were comfortable. The only draw back was that the seat kept sliding backward so I was in a slouched position. I had to stuff gear behind me to stop this from happening. To correct his I will install grommets on the strap so I can insert a screw into the seat to hold the seat in place. If modifications were not needed I would give it 5 out of 5 stars. I was though the envy of the other canoers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Provides Comfort at College Softball Game I used this at a softball stadium in the outfield bleachers. It provided excellent back support and seat padding for me. I had major back surgery four years ago and need more support now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from kayak retrofit I bought this to use as a seat in my kayak which came with a standard seat in it. With just a few modifications to my kayak, it fits great and makes boating much more enjoyable!
