The zippers glide so easily without getting snagged or caught on anything and the wheels roll like a dream. I will definitely be investing in more of these for my children for our upcoming trip.

Lightweight & Versatile Bag For Short Trips!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just got the High Sierra Hi-Life Medium Wheeled Duffel, and it seems like a solid option for light travel. It’s lightweight, easy to roll, and the dual-access design (side opening like a suitcase or front pocket entry) is actually pretty convenient. The push-button handle adjusts smoothly, and the front pocket adds extra storage. Compartments are quite spacious too- so good storage. That said, it’s a soft-sided bag, so not the best for protecting fragile items, and it might tip over when fully packed. Durability is still a question mark, but for weekend trips or casual travel, it looks like a good choice. Will have to see how it holds up with real use!

Very Much A Suitcase - Not A Duffel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was honored to receive this High Sierra Hi-Life Medium Wheeled Duffel in exchange for my honest review. I was very much surprised to find that this is quite honest a suitcase. It is incredibly durable and sturdy; that said, it is also incredibly heavy weighing in at 10 pounds. This makes it not ideal to fly with for most people, because loaded it up it could easily exceed 50 pounds. The duffel is shown on my king sized bed for reference and, unlike the stock photo, it looks really really rectangular. The shell is fabric, but highly structured, unlike your traditional duffel bag. As you can see from the video I’ve attached, there are lots of handles and compartments and zippers. One of the main selling points of the piece is that you can access the main compartment of the suitcase (that is what it truly is) from the front zipper. That said, it’s something you have to “enable” ahead of time by unzipping an inner layer while the suitcase is opened like a book. If you don’t do this, the main compartment will be inaccessible from the front. In this situation, “duffel” very much refers to the loading style of the bag rather than the aesthetic of the bag itself. It is a lovely suitcase, but I’m not sure what the little loops in front do. Unlike other items I have, they are not elastic in any way. Perhaps things can be clipped on to them? I would reach for this for a road trip, absolutely. But I would not for the airport or an airplane. As far as volume, it holds just under what my large Away hard shell suitcase can hold. It is extremely high quality and great materials. As far as rolling, it’s simply okay on hardwood and doesn’t do a great job on carpet.
