Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT BOOT ALL AROUND Purchased this boot for all season hunting with 1200g of insulate in the mossy oak breakup country! went on a 4 day hunting trip just this past week and the boot performed amazingly. Kept my feet very warm and comfortable. No breakin period needed. The boot flexes and bends very well without giving you any pressure points or sore spots. this boot can handle any type of terrain you throw at it! Overall the boot is very warm, comfortable, durable, and looks great. FYI - I usually wear a 10.5 shoe but ordered the boots in size 11 just so I had room for my wool hunting socks. They fit perfectly!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy these boots. I bought these boots last year( 2016) just before hunting season thinking I would spend a little more money on a " good " boot ! Now they are splitting in the back right above the heal . Took them by a Red Wing retailer and was told that they were only waterproof guaranteed for 6 months and that there was nothing that they could do . Please do not waist your money ! These boots have been on my feet maybe 25 times ! The only reason I gave these boots a 1 star is because it didn't give me a option to rate them 0 !!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Skeptical, but they have proven themselves I read the poor reviews and decided to get the boots anyway. After 4 months of use, several dozen outings for deer/pheasant/scouting/hiking and dozens of miles hiked, I have yet to have an issue. I go the 1200gr insulated version and found them comfy, and almost warm enough for all season - got a little painful around single digits. Grip is great - better than my last pair of rubber boots. Price is very fair for the boot I think. I kind of expected to have an issue, but so far so good. Hoping the issues were just a bad batch? Irish Setter - any known cause for the failed boots? Mine are Rock Solid!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Like these boots...but These boots are comfortable to walk in, great grip on the soles and can wade through water with ease. Overall great boots. Here's the "but"... These boots area great in the water and mud, however...if you get water on the inside of this boot, it takes forever to dry! I've left them overnight on boot dryers, I've put newspaper inside them, to help absorb the moisture, I've tried everything. Every time I think their dry, I put them back on to go hunting and my socks soak up the moisture and my feet get wet. I hunt in Vermont. I need dry feet!!! Not sure how long its going to take before these boots get properly dried, but this has been a disappointing factor to me and has resulted in 3 miserable sits in cold temps. Its tough to get water on the inside of these boots as the straps do a good job, but I was sitting in heavy rain one night hunting in NY and the water was running down my pants and into the boots. I was completely drenched. Second, and this is nitpicking, I know, but just a thought for the next design. The straps need another clip on the side to hold them down once fastened or the clip needs to be moved further out, depending on your calve width. The straps keep flapping around when I walk to and from my stand, hitting against the rubber, its noisy. Being a bowhunter, I need silence when I move. Other than that, these boots are great, but I've ended up using my Solomon hiking boots more often than not this season because of the moisture issue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Less than two weeks and the heel has begun to tear and separate and camo graphic have worn completely off Got a pair from my fiance for Christmas and at first was very pleased but in two days of use ice fishing the camo graphics we're already wearing off on the toe and sides of the boot and then about 8 days in and maybe 4 uses the heal where it meets the lip to put foot on to help in taking the boot off, completely has tore and is no longer water proof probably a three inch tear if not bigger not pleased at all and very let down by a company that has built a reputation on making boots that are tough like the men that wear them may not ever buy another red wing Irish setter boot again I picked these over a muck boot because it looked like a better boot but the quality just isn't on the same level as the other competitors wish I could upload pics of the issues because it's blatantly just poor workmanship

Rated 3 out of 5 by from unsure so far. I just got a pair of these shipped to my door today. Put them on (after some struggle) and they feel good. Only thing so far was the wrestle I had to get my heel to 'snap' into place like the ad. MY heel was hung up for awhile drawing laughter from my wife. Hope I can get it to work, quality and lightness for a 1200g boot seem great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If you want wet feet, this boots for you. Are you an avid outdoorsmen looking to get your feet wet into the hunting world? Look no further my friends! The irish setter rutmaster boot is for you! With just about 30 miles or about 3 months of walking in this boot, take one step in to the water and you will find everything youve been looking for. Cold wintery day shed hunting and need to cross a shallow creek to your true shed destination? Jump right in! In just 3 short seconds you will soon realize youve picked the right boot to get a soaked foot! Yes i know youre propably thinking you kicked water in your own boot but to your disbelief take one look down at your heel of the boot! With the new and improved "exoflex" from irish setter, give that baby some flex! Now you dont need glasses or any fancy spectacles to observe a nice crack right in the heel of your fairly new boot! Rest assured folks you can take your boot right back to where you bought it and exchange them suckers in for a new pair of irish setter rutmasters! Youll be smiling driving away from your sporting goods store like you just hit the lottery! Only to realize in just 3 more months you get to do the same thing because your new, new pair of boots has the same crack in them! What a shame that this comfortable, lightweight, warm, 1200g boot has such poor quality.
