Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Warm Winter Hiker I purchased 3 different pairs of hikers prior to hiking the Grand Canyon this past fall. After break-in of all 3, I decided to hike with a pair of Merrells due to the weight, lower heat inside the toe box, and the more agressive Vibram bottoms. However, it was a toss up with the Keen Kovens and the Targhee II's. The Targhee II's are great hikers especially for the cooler and messier days. The toe box is warmer than I like for the summer, but perfect for late fall, winter, and early spring. On initial purchase the Targhee II's were a little snug with my Darn Tough hiking socks. If you are planning to hike make sure you take your socks with you and try them on with the shoes. I usually take a wider shoe (2E) and went with a regular 10 in the Targhee II's and Kovens. I have found that as these break in they get more comfortable. They have a wider toe box than some. Keen only offers a wide in the the Targhee II mids. If you take a 4E the Mid will be a better fit - sorry your out of luck with the lows. The Keen dry system works well in moisture control and are waterproof. The Keen bottoms are solid and wear well. However, they are not as slip proof as the Vibram bottoms. May your shoe shopping be filled with great success!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable for moderate use. Good traction. Not too heavy. I've been wearing these boots for casual walks as well as on moderate field and river trails (35 + miles per week for the past month). I would not wear these boots for climbing steep grades since there is no ankle support. This is a good boot for wide feet, but the toe box seems like it needs to be more rounded rather than squared off. Had to buy one size up because of the toe box contour. Half sizes were not available. Purchased at Dick's Sporting Goods. The salesman was excellent and had discussed the pros and cons of the various brands that might meet my expectations for comfort and usability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Comfortable. I purchased these hoping to replace an older, worn-out pair of shoes made by a different brand. I am very pleased with these shoes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing purchase I could finally afford an expensive pair of hiking shoes, so I thought I would give these Keen a try. What a disappointment. A) their sizing app is off. I ordered what it told me to and they were too big. Also, standard width is too wide. B) They are heavy! Why anyone would want to carry these around all day is beyond me. C) There is almost no arch support. Very disappointed in Keen. I returned them and bought what I should have bought in the first place, New Balance. They fit like a glove and have a good arch, are lightweight. Now there is a hiking shoe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Shoe Decent shoe. Like the width through the toes. Arch support could be better, but is adequate for general daily use. Shoe is listed as waterproof and breathable, but after wearing the shoes all day, feet are damp/sweaty at the end of the day. Lacing strap that wraps around the back of the shoe is nice. My old shoe had metal eyelets that tore up the shoelace - these don't (nice feature). Front toe guard makes the shoe look funny. All in all, this is a better shoe than the one that it replaced. Not a top performer, but decent value for the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from shoe configurations holds up every well, even after a year of use this is the 3 or 4th pair that i have purchased. They last about a year for me.tried other Keen styles but, the Targhee waterproof best for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice low cut hiker Keen is not my usual brand of walking/hiking shoe but I thought I'd give it a try. I stopped by the Dick's store and tried them on. I liked them but decided $125.00 per pair was too much to pay for this shoe. I waited and bought them online for $99.00. I believe more in line with the brand. I've not had them long enough to give a good overall review of the quality or construction but they seem to be a decent walking/day hiking shoe

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst pair of Keen shoes I ever wore Bought these hoping to replace my older Keen waterproof hiking shoes. Wore them for three miles. The very high arches hurt my feet so bad I had to wear my Crocs for three weeks. I can just now get back into normal shoes. Returned them with no problem. I bought another pair of Keen hiking shoes from a store in the mall, no problems so far. Absolute junk.
