Rated 5 out of 5 by julianna from Should’ve bitten the bullet years ago I love Manduka mats. I have had the BlackMat Pro for years, and it’s the only mat I use for my daily home practice. However, I travel a lot, and I do a lot of international yoga trainings, so I’ve gone through so many travel mats, all of which have been disappointing - either too light, or too heavy, too thin, or natural rubber mats that shed all over my clothes and skin. I finally sucked up the cost and got the ProLite for my travels, and I couldn’t be happier, Manduka’s Pro mats are by far the best mats on the market - as a longtime yogini, I’ve tried pretty much every major brand, and Manduka is the gold standard. I’m so grateful for my beautiful acai-colored ProLite!

Rated 2 out of 5 by luvvinlyfe from A Bit Odd Especially For The Price We bought two of these mats...I believe they were around $80 each. I didn't look at the directions very closely... (who needs directions for a yoga mat??) but believe me, I wish I had. One yoga class and I was sliding all over the place on it. Evidently you have to pour sea salt all over it, spritz it with water, let it sit for 24 hours and then SCRUB it to remove the slippery aspect. Huge hassle and ridiculous that for the prices they charge for their mats, the manufacturer doesn't take care of that slippery aspect for you. Once we did that, the mats work fine. I do like that they are thicker than a traditional mat and supposedly have a lifetime guarantee.

Rated 2 out of 5 by anasti from Disappointed After reading numerous reviews and doing some research I decided to invest in the Manduka PROlite mat. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with my purchase. I bought this mat for use in sweaty vinyasa classes because numerous reviews and the description said it was a non-slip mat that would work well under these conditions. I even filled out the Manduka mat survey and they suggested this mat to me. The mat itself is well-made and the thickness is comfortable, but after using this is one class and my hands sliding around I know I cannot use this mat without a towel or use it just for yin or stretching. If you sweat, I suggest looking elsewhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by UrbanSherpa from Good quality yoga mat I bought this to replace an old yoga mat -- I think this mat will last me awhile. I really like how it allows for smoother transition from forward facing dog to downward facing dog (I don't really need to step forward to set up the length between hands and feet the way I find comfortable). The one thing I don't like so much is that the grip isn't as good as my old mat, but I wouldn't say it's slippery per se. Right now, I'm using a yoga mat hand towel at the front of my mat, but I have an old Manduka travel mat that I may cut to cover the top third of my yoga mat for better grip. It's not so much of an issue for the back foot when practicing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by HippieChick5 from Nice Mat! I love my new Manduka Prolite yoga mat. It is a really nice mat and is made with good materials. It feels good on your feet and joints. It is not as heavy as a lot of other mats which makes it easier to transport. It is a little slippery and I do plan to give the mat a good salt bath as everyone recommends. At this point, I have not tried that, so I can't say if that really works or not, but other people in my yoga classes have recommended the salt bath for a new mat. I do recommend this mat to anyone serious about practicing yoga.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Susan2072 from Looks great, but........ Received the mat two weeks ago and it is still on the floor in the living room being treated daily with Renew and a salt treatment. I took it once to practice and it felt sticky, slippery and wet. Other yogis I spoke to experienced the same thing and ended up buying another mat. I'm still using my old $35.00 dollar mat of two years while this $80.00 mat continues to lay on the living room floor.I wish I had purchased a different mat and would not recommend the Manduka mat to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Glebatron from An excellent mat I have attended Bikram's yoga since 2007 and have gone through a few mats and towels. This mat is expensive but well worth it. It's durable, washable, and I imagine the stench that develops from long term use will stay away longer. This mat can actually be used outside on a regular basis without getting destroyed. Also, DO NOT buy the all in one towel/mat things because those will start to stink within a year and you CAN NOT easily remove the pungent BO smell. Get a nice mat like this, and a basic washable yoga towel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by marta25 from So Happy I finally I found The Mat!! So Happy I finally I found The Mat after trying quite a few prior to this one.It does not smell; very comfortable; slip resistant; extremely durable quality and very easy to maintain. It feels and looks (after one month use) like it will last forever -looks like new today: it is important to me because I practice every style of Yoga 7 days a week for last 15 years. I did a light wash with drop of vinegar and water prior to my first use and clean it with spray offered at the yoga studio every day after my practice. I highly recommend this mat!!
