I was hesitant at first with this flavor because I'm not a big adobo fan but I was surprised by how much I like this flavor and that it comes in a pro pak. I first had this meal during a ice and rock climbing day and by the afternoon I was starving but it hit the spot!

I buy these meals to be prepared just in case something happens. If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready. I was a little anxious to try the Mexican Style Adobo Rice and not only did it smell scrumptious, it is also packed with flavor. I will be buying more in the future.

More Please! :-) My wife is not a big fan of spicy foods. I told her that this Mountain House meal is only slightly spicy. I went through a number 10 can of it by myself in one week.

I buy several products to store up for emergencies and as a quick meal when in a rush. I like to add tablespoon organic butter and a 1/8 tsp cayenne for that extra kick.
Not a freeze dried foodie
I bought 8 or so meals and this one was good. Most memorable was the Chicken & Dumplings. There was a chicken fried rice I wouldn’t do again, but the others were all pretty decent. I can’t bring myself to rave about freeze dried food, but not really liking 1 of 8 is pretty high praise for freeze dried food.

This will ALWAYS be a part of my camping/hiking/car bags. Best flavor. Very filling. And no crunchy or chewy chicken. One of the best thought out meals.

Mountain house is my go to on the road. Airline pilot in and out of hotels and I never leave the house without my electric kettle and one pack of mountain house per night. Mexican Style Adobo Rice and Chicken is one of my favorites. If cooked properly, the chicken can be a as succulent as made from home. Mexican style rice mixed with veggies add a nice and healthy blend of flavors. It all gets better too when the slight heat from the spices come through.

I was reluctant to try this meal as I am sensitive to heavy doses of spices. This was a pleasant surprise. For me it was just the right amount of spice. If your joy is to eat jalapeños straight from the jar, this will not be spicy enough. If the sprinkling of paprika on deviled eggs gives you diaphragm spasms, this will be too spicy. The biggest problem is the 62% daily recommended intake of salt in this package. If you have been hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in August and have plenty of water, it would be okay but only if you were assured of plenty of water on the next leg of your trek. Combined with the high salt content of other Mountain House products, you might be seriously overdosing on sodium chloride. Too bad M.H. doesn't give a third choice about recommendation. I would conditionally recommend this product to a friend. Inasmuch as I only have two choices, I am compelled to choose no for a recommendation.
