Rated 2 out of 5 by from Zoom Fly 3- Not as good as the previous versions The shoe is OK, but isn't what it has been billed to be by Nike. I have previous versions of the Zoom Fly that are much firmer and have more propulsion. This shoe is very soft and cushiony and feels more like a trainer or a recovery shoe. I own the 4%, and next% as well, but only use those for races and time trials. The previous versions of the Zoom Fly have been great for tempo runs, and speed work sessions. I was looking forward to the Zoom Fly 3 being equally as good or better. To my dismay, they are not what Nike claims. That said, it's nice shoe and it looks good, but it's way too soft and not very responsive. I would recommend picking up the Zoom Fly 2 (flyknit) or other versions of this shoe at a much better price. I am a huge Nike and they have a wonderful batch of shoes- this just isn't on the top of my list.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Front Heavy I have all the versions of Zoom Fly and these are by far the least comfortable. Very heavy or full in the front of the shoe and seem wide as well. I ran my Zoom Fly 1's and Zoom Fly SP's out after about 350 miles and currently running with these and Zoom Flyknit. Flyknit are by far more comfortable. I use and insole and these just are too much in the ball of foot and toe areas. Heal comes up easily as well. Just not a fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Running Shoe of the Year I've tried every new shoe that Nike has come out with this year and the Zoom Fly 3 is the most well rounded. So much in fact that I've never written a review on a shoe ever. It is the perfect balanced shoe for long distance runs or shorter runs at faster paces. If you're doing trail stuff, go with the Pegasus 36 Trail but for any road races or normal surfaces, go with the Zoom Fly 3.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs a black version like the zoom fly 1 Really awesome shoe, needs more dark colors though. I've been waiting since the all black zoom Fly 1 for another all black version of the zoom Fly to no avail. Seems like it you want to wear the zoom fly, you have to look like a neon highlighter. All black version please!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A poor update Background: I run around 50-70 miles a week. I have ran in the Zoom Fly since it first came out, and I was extremely excited for this update. THAT BEING SAID: The Zoom Fly 3 has got to be the worst update to one of the best shoes Nike had in its line up. I tried to love this shoe. The first 8 mile run I had to stop and adjust the lacing as my feet were going numb. Additionally Rather than adding comfortably, the sock liner was digging into my ankle causing another point of irritation. Still not giving up on the shoe, I went out for a 10 mile run the next night: Only had to stop twice to adjust the shoes. I ended up giving the shoes another 30-40 miles in the week to "break in" and I was left with a sore left achilles and back. The shoe sits higher than the Zoom FLY SP and is noticeable when trying to take turns. I have owned 8 pairs of the Zoom Fly SP (previous model) I have ran 4 marathons in the Zoom Fly SP, Broke 3 hours in the Zoom Fly SP, Ran Boston in that rain storm in the Zoom Fly SP and now searching online for dead stock in the Zoom Fly SP because nike missed the mark on this update and the SP is still the best version.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Step in the Wrong Direction I've owned four pairs of the Zoom Fly Flyknits and loved them all. Eight other runners in my club switched to them on my recommendation and love them as well. When I saw they were being replaced by the Zoom Fly 3, I was excited to see how they could improve on an already spectacular shoe. Sadly, I was greatly disappointed. Despite ordering my usual half size up, they were oddly tight in the toe box and loose in the heel no matter the lacing pattern used. The new lacing system adds a firmer plastic/rubber textured box that pinches and rubs, especially compared to the glove-like fit of the Flyknit upper. The Vaporweave is also hot. It doesn't breathe well and is somewhat flimsy, giving the shoe a clunkier feel than the previous iteration. The cushioning and sole are on par with that of the previous model though it does feel slightly heavier and a tad less responsive. The 3's seem to bring back those elements I disliked in the first Zoom Fly's. All in all I'm a sure it's a decent shoe. However, seeing that it's in a higher price category than most shoes, and in comparison to its predecessor, it fails to meet expectations. I'll be returning these and stocking up on the Flyknits before they are gone. I saw that the Next% has an option to replace the Vaporweave with a Flyknit upper. This option would bring me back to give it another try.
