About This Item
The Vaporfly 4 is a lean, mean, mile-eating machine. Nike® trimmed weight in the midsole, outsole and upper from the Vaporfly 3 without sacrificing performance. The result is a lighter, more propulsive all-around racing shoe that’s trusted from the mile to the marathon.
What’s New:
A higher angle of the plate and lower heel-to-toe drop compared to the Vaporfly 3 give you an improved propulsive feel
Upgraded Nike® ZoomX foam provides even more energy return than before thanks to a slight midsole reduction, giving you a bouncy, feathery feel
Nike® reduced the weight of the outsole by using a thinner rubber compared to the Vaporfly 3, eliminating unnecessary thickness
Design:
Engineered mesh offers improved comfort and a disappearing feel on your foot, reducing the weight of the shoe while supplying a more consistent fit
The handwritten number on the midsole salutes the wear-testers who put these shoes through our rigorous test process to give you the best performance possible
Reduced weight on the inside of the foot to give you a more stable ride
In-Shoe Comfort:
A full-length carbon fiber Flyplate provides a propulsive, racing feel
ZoomX foam runs heel to toe to give you a springy, bouncy feel
Durability & Traction:
Waffle outsole pattern with perforations saves weight and delivers multi-surface traction in various weather conditions
Additional Details:
Weight: 152 g/5.3 oz (Women's US 8)
Heel-to-toe drop: 6 mm

Expensive Shoes, Painful Fit
Nike should fix the sizing instead of telling runners to go up half a size. In my experience, a full size up would have been more accurate. I bought these expensive shoes in November 2025 and gave them several chances before reaching this conclusion. I wore them for a 4-mile run, a 15K, and a few easy runs before finally using them for a half marathon in March 2026. Early on, I started getting blisters under my arches, which almost never happens to me. Then during the half marathon, around mile 5, both of my toenails started to hurt. After I finished and took off my socks, I realized I had lost two toenails for the first time in my life. Yes, the shoes felt light, but that does not make up for the poor fit and the damage they caused. For the price, this was extremely disappointing. These shoes were not worth it for me.

Doesn’t Last For Long Distance Runners
These shoes lasted 10 weeks of track season before the heel came off.
